Minority Entrepreneur

(2023 - present)

Representational paintings can effectively address racial misinformation and stereotypes when grounded in objective research data, without necessarily incorporating specific data into their presentation.

In the realm of minority entrepreneurship, scholarly research emphasizes the vital role of Black, Latino, and Asian-owned businesses, contributing not only to employment but also fostering information exchange among minorities.

Drawing from these stylized facts derived from academic research, I demonstrate how art becomes a powerful tool to convey factual information, challenging misinformation and stereotypes in the era of race and immigration in the U.S. Specifically, I depict portraits of minority business owners to illustrate the significant impact of minority entrepreneurship on minority empowerment. By employing a representational painting style and anchoring the work in real data, art can serve as a compelling medium to convey the nuanced realities of political and social issues.
